CMU lovelies...

Here we go then, some pictures from the lovely weekend up in Central Michigan (Mount Pleasant to be exact!)...

So there you go a random assortment of piccy wiccys from three fun filled days at Central Michigan University, sorry they are in a kind of crazy order. We all stayed in different halls around the campus and it was definitely different from uni at home. The football game was the main highlight of the trip which involved us basically standing for three hours (we left early in the end!)...we still don't understand that game! We also went rock climbing, spent A LOT of money in the CMU shop and feasted ourselves on the best fast food central Michigan had to offer! It was a lot of fun!

Work an' all...

Ok so first I must apologise for doing a rubbish job on updating this blog. I apologise. Whole-heartedly.

Secondly, I realise I have worked in the All-Star Resorts since I last updated, here are the costumes: (Yellow t-shirt not Disney Look I was just wearing it when I took the pictures and didn't want to take it off!...Lazy!)
It was much busier than other places where I have worked and also very international, thus allowing me to flex my well-toned Japanese and Chinese language muscles...all two words of each. I also spoke a little bit of Spanish...which was quite embarrassing!

Thirdly, I'm listening to Take That while I write this (just to let you know).

I just got back from a long weekend visiting CMU in Michigan so I will do a separate post for that and try to upload the thousands of pictures, it was so much fun and a very welcome break form work... Oh some of us saw Cirque du Soleil at Downtown Disney last night which is crazy but brilliant!

Finally, I want to tell you all a little story about working at Boardwalk one day. Are you sitting comfortably? Good, then I will begin...
A guest who I met at Kidani Village one day told me she was a flight attendant and that she would be coming back in September and that she would come visit me and bring me some English stuff that I missed. So I was working in Boardwalk one day when this lady, who I didn't recognise, came up to me and said, 'Do you remember me...!?'
So I said, 'Errrrrrr yes, of course.....' '.....'
Then she gave me a bag full of 4, that's right FOUR, big bars of Cadburys! Wooooo! Amazing! She said she went to Kidani first but they told her I was working at the Boardwalk so she went all the way there and walked through all of the shops until she eventually found me, in the last shop! My own piece of Disney Magic!

That's all folks!

Speak soon
Nick :) xxx
...Have a little patience...

A little Walky to the Boardwalk(y)

Bo(red)walk

Hello, you look nice today, have you had a haircut? It looks good short.

Sooooo I've been deployed to the Boardwalk the last couple of weeks and today is my last day there! Oh my!

I have been working in a couple of locations along there: On The Boardwalk (the red waistcoat costume) and ESPN Club. On The Boardwalk is a large shop with different sections, including a really nice watch selection, but all of them are REALLY SLOOOOWWW! I've worked a few day shifts, starting early, and during the day literally no one comes in.

I also worked at ESPN Club which is the shop attached to the ESPN restaurant.......Yeah Sports! It's basically an arcade. Which is quite cool as we get a small card giving us free plays. Now I know what you're thinking, 'Nick, I bet you just spent all day playing arcade games instead of working didn't you?' And you would be right. Hey there's not much else to do there!
The funniest thing about working here was when REAL Americans came in and were asking if we had a hat for the Cincinnati Reds or some tiny college football team or some other random baseball or silly American sport that no-one else plays and I would say I'm English, I have no idea. haha sometimes anyway.

AnYwAy tomorrow I'm starting at Disneys Contemporary Resort (as shown below, not my picture). It's the one with the monorail running through it...great, won't get annoyed with the sound of that every 5 minutes. Should be fun though as one shop there has a really nice view over the lake.

So there you go! If you're passing by the Contemporary anytime soon, pop in and say hello.

Accidently in Love??!.......with Disney!

So she said what's the problem baby
What's the problem I don't know
Well maybe I'm in love...

It is very fun being a cast member Full Stop

Being able to joke around with Guests (including laughing with them, making jokes with them about their purchases (Yes haha that is fun!) and little things like giving free stickers to children make it a very satisfying job) The photos above are from Johari Treasures (the smaller shop) one day last week with Rachel, who's also on the International College Program, and it's been really fun working there the last few days! There is a really nice, relaxed atmosphere and I've started feeling quite at home there.

I've been doing Storytime a few times as well. This is where you grab a couple of books, then go and sit by the fireplace and read to the children (and their parents!) for 20 minutes or so. It can be quite fun when you get some nice people (and when they laugh at your jokes!)

...Ok well maybe not in love but a strong like!
